THE FIVE & UGA
The Bulldogs Original Five is honored to collaborate with the University of Georgia’s Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Global and Cultural Student Engagement (CGCSE). Through this alliance, we are committed to elevating mentorship, leadership development, and student success at UGA.
By aligning with Student Affairs — whose mission is to enhance student well-being, belonging, and engagement across UGA’s campus life — we join in creating experiences that promote holistic growth from orientation through graduation and beyond. (UGA Student Affairs)
Parallel to this, the CGCSE works to ensure that all students feel seen, supported and empowered, by connecting them with resources, communities, and cultural experiences. (cgcse.uga.edu)
Our joint initiative is designed to foster the professional, personal, and leadership growth of students — preparing them not only to thrive during their years at UGA, but to lead with character and clarity in life beyond the Arch. Through sharing our real-world experiences, challenges and victories, the Bulldogs Original Five serve as mentors and role models—helping students navigate college life with insight, authenticity and confidence.
Central to this work is the one-year, credit-bearing pathway program developed in partnership with UGA’s mentoring infrastructure (CSEMP). By combining mentorship, leadership seminars, workshops and community engagement, the program equips students to build meaningful connections, strengthen their professional portfolios, and ultimately pay forward their own leadership through peer-mentoring roles.
In 2025 and beyond, the Bulldogs Original Five will bring committed energy, lived insight, and intentional guidance to support UGA’s mission of building impactful and resilient networks of student leaders. Together with Student Affairs and CGCSE, we are shaping a sustainable culture of mentorship, inclusion and excellence that will continue to inspire generations of Bulldogs.

UGA Lettermen Support
The UGA Lettermen’s Program exists to honor tradition, strengthen brotherhood, and empower Bulldogs past, present, and future. More than a network, it is a lifelong community of athletes bound by shared experiences, pride, and purpose. Our mission is to ensure every Bulldog—whether on the field today or decades removed—feels supported, connected, and prepared for success in life beyond the game.

Student-Athlete Support
We are committed to helping current student-athletes excel in every area of life. With resources in academics, wellness, career readiness, and personal growth, our program ensures that Bulldogs are positioned to thrive both during their years at UGA and after they hang up their cleats.

Leadership & Mentorship
The Bulldogs Original Five stand as foundational pillars of this mission. As the first Black student-athletes to integrate Georgia football in 1971, their courage and resilience forever changed UGA’s history. Today, their lived experiences, professional success, and legacy of leadership are being poured back into the program. Through the UGA Mentor Program, leadership activations, and personal engagement, the Original Five bring unmatched perspective and inspiration, preparing today’s student-athletes to lead with character, clarity, and confidence.

Connecting a Brotherhood
The Lettermen’s Program fosters an all-encompassing brotherhood—a family that unites future, current, and former Bulldogs with alumni and fans. The Bulldogs Original Five embody the spirit of perseverance and possibility, serving as bridges across generations. Their presence amplifies our commitment to ensuring that every Letterman feels part of a living legacy—one where tradition and progress move hand in hand.
By increasing participation, driving involvement, and anchoring our efforts in the trailblazing example of the Bulldogs Original Five, we are building more than a network—we are building a legacy of unity, mentorship, and leadership that will define the future of UGA Athletics and the Bulldog Nation.
THE FIVE & EDUCATION MATTERS
Education Matters is a flagship program of the A-CC High School Completion Initiative, a nonprofit organization in Athens, Georgia, dedicated to inspiring high school students to graduate and pursue post-secondary opportunities. The program uses broadcast journalism as a dynamic tool to engage youth, fostering their creativity and communication skills while promoting academic success. In 2025, The Bulldog Five is proud to provide resources and support to amplify Education Matters' community impact through creative arts, with a focus on broadcast radio, journalism, and innovative design, ensuring students are empowered to achieve their goals and tell their stories.
In particular, our program centers efforts to impact the following four areas:
