"As the first Black University of Georgia football pioneering scholarship awarded student-athletes in 1971, during a time when racial tensions were at an all time high, as a collective group, we have faced and overcome a lot of adversity. And astonishingly, half a century later, we are still blazing new trails. Now, it's about leaving a legacy for the next generation of student-athletes to come. By giving back and helping young men and women achieve their dreams, we are excited and passionate about continuing our historical run."
